revised painting guidline

If your interested in commissioning me my email is brotherofblood@gmail.com my phone number will be available to clients who have already had their projects started

I will take commissions in the form of an army list, or just a list of kits or models.

Here's how the prices go down.
Total cost = cost of models at games workshop market price (If i buy them I will try to find cheaper prices but for expediencies sake I will buy them at my local hobby center)+ time + detail.

here's how it works. If say you buy a ten man marine squad and don't want to build and/or paint it This is how much i would charge $40.00 ( if i buy them i charge five dollars extra per kit to cover tax, paints and things that are special to your order, in this case a box of marines is 35 dollars as such I charge 40).

Now for time. Seeing as there's no way to accurately(and with out finger pointing or false accusations of spending to much time) charge for time spent build and/or painting, I can only charge for an estimated time. As such if I charge for an hour of building or painting and it takes me three hours to build and/or paint the models you only pay for an hour. I charge a base of $7.00 and hour, so for a box of Tactical marines it would take me an hour to build and clean thoroughly so $7.00. ( well below minimum wage in my state)
Detail comes in three levels,

Table Top

Detailed

Centerpiece

Table top: will have no extra bits added in building ( save special weapons), and just a basic 3-4 color paint scheme as such there is no extra charge for table top quality models ( approximately $1.50 to $2.00 per model depending on the models and their paint job this could be as low as $.50 per infantry model the total cost per model will be determined by how long I tell you it will take me to paint or build your order at this quality, the cost per model will be in the quote). A good example of my table top quality are my space marines.

Detailed: models will have extra bits thrown in during building ( pouches, knives, ect) as well as more advanced paint techniques ( line highlighting, free hand, scroll work, ect) as well as 4-8 colors on the model. the extra charge is $3.00 dollars an hour for detailed ( approximately $2.50 to $4.00 per model again it will all depend on the model and the time it takes for me to paint them.) and I will go the extra mile to insure your models will impress fellow hobbyists, good examples of detailed work would be my 191st Vostroyans, and my chaos sergeant with flamer.

side note: any metal models that you want painted must be at detailed or centerpiece, this is because the metal models are harder to build and have more details than their plastic counter parts.

Centerpiece: This is the highest quality of work I can do. I will work with you on prices for center piece models. From building ( conversions with green stuff, battle damage, scarring) to painting ( wet blending, source lighting, non metallic metal) as such my cost for centerpiece models is much higher at $7.00 extra an hour. My dwarf thane is the only thing close to an example of a center piece model that I have at the moment, the others have been sold off or traded away.

So for table top quality Tactical marines unpainted that I buy. I charge $40.00+ $7.00+ $0.00= $47.00 for a Ten man marine squad. How ever if you were to buy the models and send them to me the only real cost to you would be, $12.00 dollars (a cost per model of $1.20 including the 5 dollar kit fee with out it equates to $0.70 per model)+ shipping Much cheaper than what blue table will charge you.

So lets ramp up the scale a bit, you have a fantasy league at 1000 points coming up and you don’t have time to build and paint an army ( we will say dwarves) let alone make it look good. You go out and buy the models then ship them to me (we will estimate $10.00) I receive them and your thousand point list is 40 warriors 20 quarrelers a Thane with max rune equipment, 20 miners, and two bolt throwers. (1000 points) You decide that you don’t care much about how detailed your throng of bolt throwers Warriors or Quarrelers look, so you have me build and paint them at table top quality knowing that it will still look good. I have assured you before we made the deal that those units at table top quality will take me 17 hours to thoroughly build, prime and paint the models and insure quality (costing you $119.00 or $1.91 per model from sprue to completion ).

However you wanted your miners at detailed quality because their a special unit and due to their underground advance rule will be up front a lot faster than the other units. I tell you that for the twenty miners it will take me 7 hours to build, primer and paint ( the more detailed the longer it will take me to ensure quality(this will how ever only cost you $70.00 3.50 per model only $1.59 more but they do get a lot more special treatment)).

Finally you tell me that you want your thane to stand out and request him at centerpiece quality, I tell you for the thane to build and paint will take 4 hours ( another $56.00 dollars a cost per model of, well $56.00 but you are getting a display case quality model.) so your total for the army built and painted by me is only 245 dollars, plus 5 dollars a kit ( about 45 dollars) meaning at a grand total of $300.00 (with our theoretical shipping cost) In addition to this Incredibly low cost I will also turn out your models in 28 hours 3-4 work days ( give or take a few days for weather and unforeseen circumstances were looking at about a week). Cheaper and faster than blue table or miniwargaming.com, of course I will ensure quality on every model that I paint.

If you send me built models obviously the cost per model will drop as will the total price. There are a few things to note,

If you send me pre built models I will paint them as is unless you pay an additional fee for cleaning or conversions ( both on a case by case basis, but cleaning wont cost more than 20-40 cents per model)

Also I will not paint over pre painted model nor will I strip models for you, neither work very well.

Now the more you buy the less I charge so for every 500 dollars you spend I knock 5 percent of the price off. Up to 25 percent.

However for larger orders I will charge a little extra for models to ensure that there is enough paint and primer and such like for them. (this is a case by case basis and it wont be more than a few dollars extra)

As for payment I will require one of two things. One if you are having me buy the models I need the cost of the models up front plus half of the cost for time. If you want to supply the models then you will have to cover the shipping and handling, as well as half of the payment up front.

as for payment polices when I have completed the models I will require the payment in full before I ship the models to you.

I will keep you constantly updated by picture and video on your models. I will not keep you in the dark on the progress of your models

I will also work to quickly get your order taken care of while still ensuring the highest level of quality
